Caliban's End

Acora

The Acora are one of the most influential races upon the Myr.  They are generally tall, with fine, proud features. Renowned for their aloofness, the Acora's lands are shrouded by secrecy.  Visitors are not usually welcome in Acoran. The Acora are begrudging in their participation as a part of the Assembly of Nations.

The Acora, whilst being one of the Myr's most dominant races, especially in the areas of trade, manufacturing and scientific exploration, are not particularly well-liked. A deep-seated jealousy underpins the relationship many other races have with them. For the Acora are accomplished in almost everything they undertake. As scholars, they are only rivalled by the academics on the island of Caquix. Their understanding of languages is almost as developed as the Spriggans of Camulos. The skill of their artisans has long kept the Acora in a state of economic prosperity. Acora can almost match Helyans on a battlefield and their talents with projectile weapons contains most nations to a state of muted admiration. The Acora have also led the way in various arts, incliding music, writing, painting and sculpture. The only aspect of contemporary life where they are at a loss is cuisine - the Acora are notoriously the worst cooks in the entire Myr.

Despite their well-deserved reputation for haughtiness bordering on rudeness, the Acora are incredibly affectionate towards one another and are without doubt one of the most unified, homogenous people  in the Myr.

The country is governed by a democratically elected parliament, but over this - and all other institutions - presides the Royal House of Carrucan. The head of this family is Queen Ana Carrucan. The heir to this throne is the Queen's sister Claudia Kallady, husband to the captain of The Silhouette, Jonas Kallady and mother to Jehenna Canna.
