Much of Addison Cole's life has remained in secret but a number of significant points have emerged from the pages of the Myr's history. Addison is the only daughter of Tessa and Bormanus Cole. Her father was discovered to have contracted leprosy shortly after her birth and died a year later within the walls of the leper colony known as Sanctuary.
It was Addison who - at the age of thirteen - won the first game of Siege winning the Isle of Usnach for the people of Cephalonia. This victory catapulted Addison into the public eye and her face and name became widely known. Her discomfort with the notoriety this victory brought drove her to leave Cephalonia with her mother. It is unknown where Addison Cole went at this time but seventy years later she returned alone to her family home in the hills above Cibola.
On a tombstone in the graveyard on the Isle of Grisandole the following inscription was carved:
Here lies Tessa Cole,
Mother of Addison
Born 52nd day of summer 1292
Died 1st day of winter 1512
…said the Darkbird,
‘Nevermore.’
The darkbird alluded to in the epitath is a creature of myth that could change its shape into other birds at night to eat their young, but had to change back to its original black form before dawn or else be stuck in the shape it had assumed.
Addison Cole is believed to be one of the last remaining Morgai.
