Aracha are more commonly known as shatterbugs and were unknown in the Myr until recently. In the space of a year, shatterbugs have spread throughout the Myr and would be described as a plague if they weren't so beautiful. The most notable aspect to the shatterbug is the beautiful light that glows from its crystalline body. The light varies from pure white to a warm yellow depending on the time of day and - if the theories of Caquikki scientists are to be believed - the creature's mood.
Shatterbugs have proven to be a highly useful resource. Mainly Myrrans place the bugs in lanterns to provide light for house and streetlamps. Whilst one shatterbug would not be enough to illuminate a room, a cloud of them can provide ample light which will continue until the creatures die. The lifespan of the shatterbug seems dependent on how long they are kept in captivity and for this reason, most Myrrans will open their lamps once a month and release the bugs, replacing them with new ones. As shatterbugs number in the millions, they have proven to be an inexhaustible source of light.
The bugs seem to have no impact upon the world other than a positive one. It is unclear whether they eat and they do not seem to have impacted upon the botany of the Myr in any way.
