Asari are indigenous to the chain of islands known as Cephalonia and that is considered by most to be a good thing.  The Cephalonians had long suffered the presence of the Asari and would have had them all killed if such genocide were permitted in the Myr.  The Asari seem civilised as the possess the ability to make tools, weapons and clothes but in everyother respect they resemble the most brutish animals that walk on the Myr.  The Asari are vicious and will use every opportunity to demonstrate this upon anything that falls into their clutches.

The Asari are small, grey-skinned creatures with bald heads and a face dominated by long, sharp teeth forever fixed in a wicked grin.  They have large, flapping years that they use to track down the peg'ii to feed upon.  In their claw-like hands, the Asari carry flails dipped in a sticky substances they make from mud and sap.  These whips are used to ensnare any peg'ii who fly within reach.  When caught, the peg'ii is doomed to a terrible fate - the Asari will keep their victims alive as long as possible whilst they feed on their flesh.  Once a captive dies, the Asari will leave the bloody body on the ground and feed no more.
