One of the most remarkable creatures in all Khepera is the calumpf, a six-legged dromedary with three humps on its back. The galumpf can go for years without water, due to the amber nectar produces in its large, rounded humps. Recognising the usefulness of the beast, Kheperans have survived long periods without water by draining the calumpf's humps. To do this, the Kheperans make small incisions in the sides of the hump from which will flow a constant stream of nectar until the hump is dry. Naturally, the calumpf has an aversion to people cutting its humps for a drink and it will viciously attack anyone who tries to do so. To avoid this the Kheperans usually drug the calumpf with the juice from the rare anesthasia flower which can be found on the blue cacti that live in the shadows of Khepera's southern dunes. A calumpf's hump will restore itself over a few days.
