Although it has fiercesome competition in the huk, the marrok and the tumblethorn, there are many people who regard the carnopod as the most dangerous animal to be found in the Myr. It was certainly intimidating-looking beast standing at least three times taller than a normal man. Although the shape and size of its horn varied, the simple fact was this chitin projection was designed to maim, skewer and impale - it was not decorative.
Its mouth was lined with ten times more teeth than any meal should require. Above its mouth its eyes twisted about independently of one another giving it a look akin to madness.
The colour of the carnopod varied depending upon its age and gender, but the males, which were usually more commonly seen, tended to be crimson in colour. The females were usually grey.
One its back large plates embedded in the creature's rough hide flushed with colour whenever it was angry, which was just about every minute it was awake.
The carnopod is the only creature in the Myr to have three legs. It can reach speeds as fast as a snorse but cannot maintain them for an extended period of time.
The carnopod dwells in the Stone Forest in Tethra but occasionally they wander up onto the Ganesa Plateau in search of meat, especially snorse, the smell of which can drive the beasts into a frenzy.
