When Cate Audrey woke up one morning and decided she would be an Almoner, she had no idea that her twin brother Tomas had woken up in a different city with exactly the same idea.  The twins were liike every other person who has responded to the Almoner's calling - it was a realisation, not a vague desire.

Cate's younger years were much like that of any other Acoran girl.  She played with dolls, she went to school and she envied the beautiful Princess Jehenna, aspiring one day to be just like her.

But when the calling came, she immediately left behind her life in Acoran and travelled far across the seas to Nessa.

In the Grove of Nemetona, Cate met Cephalus Silenus and began the most fulfilling time of her life.
