Many millennia ago, when the Myr was in its infancy, a race of giants roamed the world. Only three remain. They can be found slowly wandering across the plateau between Cessair and Brigantia, carrying the tri-city of Ganesa on their backs. Theses cities - carved out of tall granite and quartz mesas - are not part of their bodies. Like a barnacle on a ship, the mesas formed on the giants' backs when they fell into a deep sleep thousands upon thousands of years ago.
The Colossi do not speak but occasionally they seem to communicate with each other. Their low-rumbling grunts can be heard from one end of the plateau to the other, like thunder rolling across the sky. It is not known whether the Colossi are intelligent. They take no interest in the life of the Myrrans with whom they share the plateau.
The Colossi sleep during the day but at night they spend their time foraging for food, specifically durnodaw eggs which they find buried in the red dirt of the plateau. A single Colossi will eat over 10,000 eggs a day. Fortunately for them each durnodaw will lay over 1,000 eggs a week which explains why there are so many of them flying across Tethran skies despite the voracious appetite of the Colossi.
Larger than a hill, but smaller than a mountain, the Colossi are staggering creatures to look upon. The Colossi are totally grey in colour, except for its sad blue eyes which shine in the darkness. In shape they resembled a man, but their actions echo those of a small child crawling slowly across a floor.
The largest of the three surviving Colossi bears the name of Galam, an old Tethran word meaning 'first to wake'. The other two follow him across the plateau. Their names are Lo and Mok.
