Fortunately, Jehenna has developed considerably since I drew this. The picture is just a cliche. The warrior elf-maiden look is just a bit obvious and Jehenna can't be such a contrived character - she is too important to the narrative. Check out the chainmail - how bad is that! It defies all laws of physics and fashion. Imagine wearing armour like this! I do like the spaulders (shoulder armour) - I think I'll keep them for future designs for this character and other Acora. It's an older picture (about 2002) and I must have laboured over it fastidiously, but it's not where my headspace is now. I want characters that kick against convention rather than perpetuate existing fantasy models. The composition is alright and her pose works reasonably well (but the cape clearly is more susceptible to wind than is the grass at Jehenna's feet!)
I think I need to alter my use of perspective. I play it way too safe.
