Mt Taran is the tallest mountain in all Helyas. Its conical peak can be seen from hundreds of leagues away, towering over the dusty plains of northern Helyas. For much of the year, the crown of Mt Taran is covered in snow. Not far from the top of the mountain, the city of Taranis sits atop a saddle that drops dramatically to the north and south. The long road up to Taranis is one of the most breathtaking journeys in the entire Myr, perlious but beautiful. Mt Taran is also the source of numerous rivers that streatch out across this region. Occasionally winds from the west bring in massive thunderclouds which often causes deluges that endanger the many shelp farms and grizzum ranches that cling to the foothiills of the great mountain.
