Caliban's End

Tethran

A long time ago, Tethra was a sea-faring nation, and much of the mapping and exploring of the Myr many centuries ago was carried out by Tethrans.  They were once a great and gentle people, but over the years their identity has changed and now they are commonly regarded as the thugs of the Myr.  They are not as disliked as the Sessymirians but this is perhaps because they do not have as much impact upon the world.

The people of the Ganesa Plateau and Corra to the south are not as plain-speaking and brutal as their countrymen in Brigantia, and these Tethrans feel they have been maligned by the behaviour of the people of Brigantia who have involved themselves in all manner of criminal activities ranging from piracy to assassinations.

One thing that is common to all Tethrans is their love of dressing up.  This involves having metal cauterised into the skin.  Whilst painful, this form of adornment is an essential part of Tethran culture and almost all Tethrans - men and women - indulge in the practice.  There are some Tethrans who have very little flesh showing.  Some even go further and have weapons such as maces and spikes sewn into their forearms, elbows and foreheads.  The wealthy ones choose shatterstone or steel.  The poorer Tethrans content themselves with tin.
