The aardwolf of Elidor is one of the Myr's rarest creatures.  It is a vicious beast, even at birth.  Aardwolf litters are large containing up to twelve cubs but within a few minutes there is inevitably only one left as they turn on one another from the moment of birth.  This pattern of visciousness continues as long as the beast can survive around others of its own kind.

Strangely, the aardwolf becomes incredibly docile by the light of the Myr's moons but this has not been enough to pull the animal back from the brink of extinction.

Some Acoran ship captains have been known to take on aardwolves as mascots.  They tend to be less fractious around Myrrans, and can be an excellent way of keeping away the rattu which often infect ships.
