Findias

Findias lies on a peninsula that bears the brunt of the Oshalla Ocean on its northern side and receives warm zephyrs that blow up from the Nessan Sea on its southern side.  The people of the town are spread across both sides of the peninsula and there is a marked difference between them.  Those who live on the northern side tend to be gruff, taciturn individuals who are hard-working but quick to anger.  In contrast, Findias' southerners are generally extremely laid back, carefree individuals who will only work when the mood takes them.

The remarkable affect weather and geography has played upon Findias' people is reflected in many aspects of life in the town.  It is reflected in the architecture, the dress of the people, even the customs and occupations of the townsfolk.  It has also caused many problems and an inreconcilable rift exists between the northerners and the southerners.  Findias is famous for having three civil wars within the town.

Findias is also one of the Myr's busiest ports.  It is a place of transit for those crossing from the Myr's two major continents.  A ferry runs daily between Pelinore in the west to Findias in the east.

Because visitors to the port can easily be swept up in the animosity that exists between the northerners and the southerners, a wide cobblestone road leads from up the port at the tip of the peninsula and up along the ridge that divides the town.  This road is considered to be no-one's and any who walk upon it can do so without fear of being enbroiled in the local conflict.

Remarkably, when the folk of Findias cross the road, they take on many of the qualities of the people on that side.  It is only when the people of Findias are apart that they see things so differently.
