Set on the most northern reaches of Scoriath, Pelinore is a vast city, home to over 100, 000 people. It is the Myr's third largest metropolisis, behind Cessair and Caquix City. The city lies on a wind-swept penisula bounded by two oceans, the forbidding Oshalla Ocean to the north and west and the more temperate Nessan Sea to the east. It occupies one of the most strategic positions in the region. Not only is Pelinore placed on two important trade routes, it is the most hospitable gatewayfor all travellers from the east who do not want to risk passage through dangerous cities such as Tindalo or Brigantia to the south.
The city has never been occupied by foreign troops. Its high position above the waters surrounding it, coupled with limited landward access have made it virtually unassailable. The presence of the elite Pelinese Royal Guard has also helped to carve Pelinore's reputation as a safe and secure city.
Pelinore is an ancient city, a fact reflected in its architecture and street design. Atop Pelinore Hill sits Castle Pendragon, where King Pius I lives with his large family.
Pelinore has been home to many notable Myrrans who have contributed to Myrran society over the centuries. The great Morgai Gideon Grayson came to the city to retire from public life. It is also the birthplace of Sir Edgar Worseley and Lady Anne Miller. It was also home to Garnett Shaw before he travelled to Mag Mel to develop a safe haven for the Myr's apothecaries. The Acoran Maeldune Canna worked in Pelinore for many years as a diplomat before taking on the position of Minister for Justice.
Sometime referred to as the City of Rain it is rare for a day to pass in Pelinore without a downpour or two.
To the south-west of the city, many villages lie, agrarian communities that feed and support the ever-expanding city. Further down the eastern coast lie the cities of Dagonet and infamous Tindalo.
